The international meeting for the training of young people, coordinated by the Osservatorio di Genere, will take place from 19 to 25 July 2021in the city of Macerata, Italy.
Target
The target group for this activity is made up of a team of young people from the 5 countries involved in the RADart project, which are: UK, Italy, France, Belgium and Poland. For each partner will participate 2 boys / girls, aged between 17 and 25, and a companion, for a total of 15 participants (10 young people and 5 accompanying persons).
Purposes
International training is an essential part of the RADart project, because it allows participants to share ideas and work together with a group of peers with different cultures and backgrounds. In fact, partners are able to tell and represent their own context: the purpose of the LTTA (Learning, Teaching, Training Activities) is precisely to demonstrate the value of differences and the strength of dialogue and comparison.
If the main purpose of the RADart project is to enhance the critical thinking skills of young people in order to prevent and fight against violent radicalization, this meeting aims to:
- explore from a practical point of view the results collected through the survey carried out in recent months (already reworked in this European Report)
- talk about the various forms of violent radicalization given in different contexts
- share suggestions for the development of the Manual for youth workers including creative and digital methodologies (IO2).
Methodology and planned activities
The peculiarity which transversally characterizes all stages of the RADart project is the use of art as a tool to combat violence and radicalized thought. Precisely for this reason, the meeting in Macerata includes participatory and non-formal activities such as debates, artistic workshops, role-playing games.
The five days will be divided into:
- opportunities for training on the issues addressed by the project
- creative workshops carried out by artists identified by the Osservatorio di Genere which are Simona Muscolini, Aurora Carassai e Sophia Ruffini, and these will involve young people by pushing them to get involved
- opportunities for training for project partners
- opportunities for refund and shared debate
- free time to encourage socialization and create cohesion among participants
The debate will be conducted by youth trainers prepared by the Osservatorio di Genere, in order to be as effective as possible and have the greatest impact on participants.
